LORIENT 2- 1 LILLE
Before scoring the winning goal 80 minutes later, Terem Moffi assisted the opening goal of the game to get Lorient an early lead in the 7th minute.

It’s still early in the season but predictions can be made boldly about Lille’s chances of defending the league title. Lille has one win, two defeats, and two draws in their opening five games of the Ligue 1 season.

Lille’s title defense is not going according to plan. They followed their first victory of the season with a defeat. Lille suffered a 2-1 defeat against Lorient after ending their winless start to their season with a 2-1 victory against Montpellier.

Burak Yilmaz scored from the penalty spot to cancel out the lead Armand Lauriente had given Lorient, but it wasn’t enough to get Lille a string of league victories.

PSG 4-0 CLERMONT FOOT
Ander Herrera scored a first-half brace to help Paris St. Germain make it 5 wins out of 5 in the league. The result meant the end to the unbeaten run of newly-promoted Clermont Foot.

MONACO 0-2 MARSEILLE
Ahmadou Bamba Dieng scored a goal in each half to get Marseille the three points at Monaco.

MONTPELLIER 2- 0 SAINT-ETIENNE
Saint-Etienne are five matches in without a victory.

BORDEAUX 2- 3 LENS
Despite making up for a two-goal deficit in the second half, a [very] late penalty denied Bordeaux a point at home against Lens.
Florian Sotoca converted from the penalty spot six minutes into the stoppage time to restore lens lead and secure their second victory of the season. Bordeaux stayed winless.

RENNES 0-2 REIMS
METZ 0-2 TROYES
Reims and Troyes won their first game of the season through 2-0 away victories.
Reims found their success against Rennes, while Gerson Rodrigues’s goal in the 50th minute got newly promoted. Troyes their first victory. Troyes ended up 2- 0 winners at Metz.

NANTES 0-2 NICE
The new manager is getting it right. Christophe Galtier is on track to defend the title with another team. They have been ducked a point for failing to control their supporters in that fixture but Nice are unbeaten in the four matches they’ve completed [3 wins and a draw].

LYON 3-1 STRASBOURG
Lyon doubled their victories after a 3-1 victory against Strasbourg.
Both teams were coming into this match after winning their first of the season in the last round.
