It was possibly the most highly anticipated Manchester derby in history. Both teams have made major changes over the summer in management and in players, and they had both started the season undefeated after their first three matches.

Manchester City won the game in the first half of the match.Kevin de Bruyne game the visitors the lead in the 15th minute, before Kelechi Iheanacho found the winner in the 36th.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was able to cut Manchester City’s the lead in half before the break. Despite an improvement in Manchester United game in the second half, no goals were scored till the final whistle.

 

West Ham                2-4             Watford

It was the first win of the season for Watford. West Ham United blew a two-goal lead at home to lose by two goals.  Michail Antonio gave the hammers a perfect start when he opened the scoring in the 5th minute and doubled the lead in the 33rd minute. In front of their fans and in their new stadium, it was looking like a dream start to a nice Saturday afternoon for the Hammers.

Watford canceled West Ham’s lead before the break. Two late goals from Odion Ighalo in the 41st minutes and Troy Deeney in stoppage time started the second half on even terms.

Two goals were scored in the second half, and it was from the away team. Watford pulled into the lead in the 53rd minute when Etienne Capoue found the winner. Jose Holebas scored to insured the win for Watford about ten minutes later.

 

Stoke City          0-4   Tottenham Hotspur

It is looking like a tough season for Stoke. Their first two home matches have ended with the team conceding 4 goals. Stoke City was thrashed at home by Tottenham Hotspurs. The match finished 4-0, and it was the first time this season that Spurs have managed to score multiple goals in a match.

Heung-Min Son opened the scoring late in the first half. His 41st-minute goal sent Tottenham to the break with a lead. After the break, Son opened the scoring for the second half in the 56th minute and gave Tottenham a two-goal cushion. Dele Alli removed any doubt of a Stoke City comeback when he netted his goal just four minutes later.

Middlesbrough           1-2          Crystal Palace

Middlesbrough undefeated start to their season was ended at home by Crystal Palace. The away side was in search for their first win of the season, and Wilfred Zaha’s goal in the 47th minute gave them that win.

 

Burnley                     1-1        Hull City

The two newly promoted teams met and shared the points. Robert Snodgrass late strike gave Hull City a point away at Burnley. On the balance of play, it was a well-deserved draw for Hull City. A loss would have been two defeats in a row for Hull City. After the amazing start they’ve had to this season, Hull City wouldn’t want to be picking up and bad habits at this early stage.

 

AFC Bournemouth     1-0    West Bromwich Albion

Callum Wilson 80’

After three matches, AFC Bournemouth got their first win of the season against West Bromwich Albion. Callum Wilson’s 80th-minute goal decided the match.

 

Arsenal                       2-1        Southampton

Arsenal has started their winning streak for the season, while Southampton remains winless. A late penalty from Santi Cazorla was the difference between the sides.

Southampton was first to get on the score sheet. A strike from Dusan Tadic ricochets of the crossbar and bounces of the back of Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech to give the away side a dream start.

It was 1-1 at half time. Laurent Koscielny pulled it back level with an overhead kick in the 29th minute.

To many, the defending champions of the Barclays Premier League are out the contest for the title this season.

Liverpool won in their first home match of the season. They welcomed the defending champions Leicester City to Anfield and made an easy job out of them.  The high-pressure Liverpool team was too much for Leicester City counter attacking team. Liverpool were two goals up before Jamie Vardy scored Leicester City’s only goal in the 38th minute.  

Roberto Firmino opened and ended the scoring for this match. He struck first in the 13th minute, and later in the 89th. Firmino’s goals sandwiched Sadio Mane’s and Adam Lallana’s.

Chelsea has a new hero in Diego Costa. His goals have ensured that Chelsea goes on undefeated in the 2016/17 Premier League season.

It was looking like another win for Chelsea when they went up a goal in the 18th minute. A second-half penalty against the team allowed Gylfi Sigurdsson to bring Swansea back into the match. Not too long after, Swansea was a goal up.

Chelsea didn’t put their heads down. With the few matches played this season, one thing that Chelsea can be sure off is that they get a late goal. It was Costa again who found the late goal for Chelsea in the 81st minute.

Sunderland      0-3    Everton

Everton was not nice to their ex-boss David Moyes, as they handed him his third defeat to their start of the season.

The winless start for Sunderland continues after they lost their fourth match of the 2016/17 Premier League season.

A second half hattrick inside 12 minutes from Romelu Lukaku gave Everton and away win at Sunderland. The win puts Everton top the top three on the table.
