If the objective is to defend the Serie A title, then Juventus is on track. Juventus new signings paid the team back with goals and made it three wins in three for the defending Serie A champions.

All goals were scored in the first half. Higuain put Juventus up two goals by the 10th minute, and Miralem Pjanic comforted the fans with his goal in the 27th minute. Sassuolo pulled a goal back, but it wasn’t enough to spark a comeback.

 

Palermo                 0-3            Napoli

Three goals in the second half gave Napoli the maximum points away at Palermo.

Unlike the win in their previous match, Napoli was able to maintain a clean sheet. Palermo remains winless.

Bruno Alves’s late goal was not enough to spark a comeback for Cagliari, as Bologna went on to win their second match of the season. A goal from Simone Verdi in the 23rd minute gave the home side the lead. Bologna held on to this lead until Federico Di Francesco doubled it in the 74th minute.

Cagliari remains winless in Serie A the start of the season. The best result they’ve had was a home draw to Roma. Their next match is at home to Atalanta and they will be hoping to start winning.

 

Roma                    3-2                Sampdoria

It was a home win for Roma.

 

Francesco Totti scored a penalty in additional time to get maximum points for Roma against Sampdoria. Both teams experienced a lead and the loss of a lead during this match.

Roma was first to go up a goal in the 8th minute but found themselves a goal behind by the end of the half. Edin Dzeko scored in the 61st minute to get Roma leveled.

 

AC Milan         0-1       Udinese

It is not too much of a shock to see Milan lose nowadays.After a dramatic winning start to their season, Milan has lost the rest of the matches in the 2016/17 Serie A season.  

 

Udinese scored a late goal to win away at Milan to get their second win of the season. Second half substitute Stipe Perica scored the only goal of the match in the 88th minute.

Chievo Verona                  1-1              Lazio

It was a draw when Lazio went to play Chievo Verona. Both teams have had an identical start to their season, so a draw might  just be fitting.

 

If you had missed the first 5 minutes from the 50th minute up, you would have missed all the goals scored in this match.

Atalanta came from a goal down to win at home against Torino. A late penalty goal from Franck Yannick Kessie was the deciding goal.

 

Pescara                                        1-2          Inter Milan

Inter Milan had to come from a goal down to beat Pescara. It was the first loss for the newly promoted team Pescara and the first win for Inter Milan.

Mauro Icardi was the man of the match for Inter. His two goals gave them the equalizer and the winner.

Empoli got their first win of the season from newly promoted Crotone. Both teams came into the match without a win to their season, and Crotone was left in the position they started.

It was an evenly contested match that was separated by Andrea Costa’s 56th-minute goal for Empoli.
