Premier League in Europe 2016/17 season.

Posted on

None of the teams representing England have ever won the Champions League.  Is there hope for the Premier League next year?

UEFA Champions League for Premiership will feature Leicester City FC, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and possibly Manchester City.

Arsenal will be the most experienced premiership side, but if Manchester City is to make it to the competition, then premiership will have last season’s semi-finalist in the midst of their campaign.

With La Liga dominating the  competition in recent years, and Sevilla retaining their Europa League title, there is another opportunity for Spain to increase the probability of the trophy returning to Spain once again if they start UCL again with 5 teams.

In 2011, Chelsea was thought to have the least chance of winning the UCL. A team from London had never won the league, and their opposition was seen as stronger(they were). But with determination and a lot of luck, they achieved the impossible and won the title for the first time in their history by beating Bayern Munich in Munich.

We can’t count out the Premier League because we don’t see the usual crest that comes with UEFA Champions League. Leicester might shock us more by doing the improbable again, Arsenal might get lucky with their draws and avoid early meetings of in-form strong opposition. Tottenham looks like a team that is young and strong; qualities that are needed to run a marathon for football competitions. And Manchester City should be in great shape under Guardiola. Who knows who he will bring to the team? Messi?? 🙂
