Paris St. Germain return to finish their title defense season. – The end of the winter break for Ligue 1.

Rennes vs Marseille will be the opener for the 20th round of the 2019/20 French Ligue 1.
Winter break is over and the teams are here to finish their objectives.

The teams sandwiching 2nd-place Marseille in the current standings have a match in hand, while Mariseill does not.
One of the teams is Rennes.
A defeat to Rennes will reduce Marsielle’s lead on Rennes down to two points, while creating a high probability that Paris St. Germain will widen the gap at the top of the league standings.

With Lille currently in fourth-place (2 points from Rennes), there isn’t room for poor results for Rennes in the opener.

Not only do they have an 8-point lead on their closest challenger in the title race, Paris St. Germain have also played the fewest matches (18), scored the most goals (43) and conceded the least goals (10) in the league.

Reims is the other team in the league that has conceded 10 goals.

There is really no probable way to stop Paris St. Germain from winning their 9th French league title.

Next up for Paris St. Germain is Monaco.
As a team, Monaco has scored 31 goals (second only to PSG), and they are the only side to win the league title in the last 7 years (aside from PSG)

Monaco’s Wissam Ben Yedder is leading the golden boot race in the league with his 13 goals, but no one will be surprised if Kylian Mbappe gets finally leap over Ben Yedder in that race.

Mbappe is two goals behind Ben Yedder.

Top Scorer
Wissam Ben Yedder (Monaco) – 13 goals
Kylian Mbappe (PSG) – 11 goals
Habib Diallo (Metz) – 10 goals
Victor Osimhen (Lille) – 10 goals
Moussa Dembele (Lyon) – 10 goals
