Against the worst-performing reigning champion in Europe’s top 5 leagues, Nice failed to get the win to position themselves for a shot at Champions League qualification. Nice was beaten 3-1 at home by Lille.

Rennes helped themselves in the chase of Europa League football with a 2-0 win against a Marseille side that is chasing a direct qualification to the Champions League.

Wissam Ben Yedder contributed a hattrick to help Monaco extend their winning streak in the league by coming from 2 goals down to win 4-2 against Brest. And with Marseille dropping points in at Rennes, Monaco took away the second place position.

A 2-1 defeat to Reims denied Saint-Etienne the result needed to protect the relegation-playoff spot because Reims found three points from a 1-0 win against Angers.

Bordeaux is mathematically alive because of Saint-Etienne’s defeat. A win for Saint-Etienne would’ve officially relegated Bordeaux.

A goalless draw allowed Lorient to get the point needed to confirm their safety from relegation while allowing Bordeaux to save their official relegation for the last game of the season.
