MIDWEEK DOMESTIC CUP FOOTBALL IN EUROPE

Domestic Cup football throughout Europe this week.

A few games away from the finale for the domestic cup competitions across European top leagues.
It’s the fifth round in England and a quarterfinal in Germany. There are semifinals in France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and the Netherlands.

While the title holders of the KNVB Cup and the Coppa Italia are still active contestants, the Copa del Rey, Coupe de France, DFB Pokal, FA Cup, and the Taca de Portugal have all confirmed to be producing new winners this season.

The Coppa Italia semifinal gives us a Milan derby.
Porto or Sporting CP will reach the Taca de Portugal final at the expense of the other.
The FA Cup gives us an interesting fixture between Southampton and West Ham.
Ajax has a tricky fixture with AZ Alkmaar in the KNVB Cup semifinal.
Looking at the remaining competition, RB Leipzig has a good chance of making the DFB-Pokal their first major title.
