‘Manchester United vs Arsenal’ is part of this ‘Weekend Bangers’. – the highlighted fixtures for the coming weekend

You might have some clutter on your timetable for this weekend, but the least you can do is make some room on for these fixtures.

The title race in the English Premier League is wide open.

Manchester City will be looking to make up for the points they’ve already dropped in the opening rounds of the season. Their victories have not been achieved by the convincing margins some of us got used to in the last couple of seasons; and they’ve not gotten the ideal result in their recent away games. Sheffield United showed how tough they can be when they took on Liverpool in the previous round.

Injuries in their back line has Liverpool looking quite vulnerable. They will be getting a visit for a resilient West Ham side. Can Liverpool cope?

After ending Everton’s unbeaten run, Southampton has the opportunity to extend Aston Villa’s winless run.

Aston Villa’s unbeaten run in the league came against Leeds United in the last round. Playing
against Southampton is a chance to restart another winning run; or kick-off a losing run for Aston Villa.

Everton’s unbeaten run in the league came against Southampton in the last round. Playing against Newcastle is a chance to restart another winning run or kick-off a losing run for Everton.

An English classic. Manchester United vs Arsenal.

Leeds are two points off Leicester in the standings; that means top four is within reach for Leeds United if they are to secure three points from a win at home against Leicester City.

In the German Bundesliga, Schalke must beat Stuttgart to avoid the extension of their winless run in the league to 22 games

To ensure they stay above the chasing pack, RB Leipzig will have to get a win away against a Monchengladbach side that are also aspiring to be part of the top 4.

Real Madrid’s performance in the Champions League has been anything but normal but in the Spanish La Liga they’ve managed to keep top spot in their title defense season. After El Clasico win in the last round, Real Madrid will have a chance to pick up another three points when they go against relegation-zoned Huesca.
Barcelona on the other hand will be looking to make the bounce back from El Clasico defeat and avoid a third successive league defeat when they go against Alaves. Both teams are on 7 points but Barcelona has played 2 games fewer.

It will be an equal opportunity for Athletic Club and Sevilla to end their bad form with a win. They face each other with neither side having won a game in their last three matches. A defeat in this fixture means a 4th successive defeat for Athletic Club’s 4th; and a 3rd successive for Sevilla.

What will AC Milan response be to dropping their first set of points in the Italian Serie A?
AC Milan goes to Udinese to get back on track in their winning form. A win for AC Milan guarantees their position at the top of the league table for another round.

The awarded victory against Napoli has been Juventus’s only three points in their last 4 league matches. They have a good chance here to get another win on board when they travel to face newly-promoted Spezia.

Assuming that Paris St. Germain will get the job done against Nantes, Lille must win against Lyon to keep up the pace with Paris St. Germain in the French Ligue 1.
