UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL:

Manchester City 1-0 Inter Milan.

Manchester City made history by completing the ‘Treble’ with a 1-0 victory over Inter Milan. They have become the second English team to achieve this feat, following in the footsteps of Manchester United’s accomplishment in the 1998/99 season.

Manchester City entered the final as favorites, eagerly aiming to secure their first-ever Champions League title. However, Inter Milan, a two-time champion, did not go down without a fight. To be fair, Inter Milan arguably deserved more from the match. Nevertheless, it was Rodri’s goal in the 68th minute that ultimately separated the two teams. Manchester City can now proudly claim the title of UEFA Champions League winners for the first time ever, accomplishing this feat during Pep Guardiola’s second ‘treble’ winning season.

Throughout the tournament, both Manchester City and Inter Milan showcased their strength, setting the stage for a highly competitive Champions League final.

Inter Milan demonstrated their resilience by emerging from a group that included Bayern Munich and Barcelona. They secured a narrow 1-0 aggregate victory against Porto in the Round of 16, followed by a thrilling 5-3 aggregate triumph over Benfica in the quarterfinals. In the semi-finals, they delivered a dominant performance against AC Milan, securing a commanding 3-0 aggregate win. It was unfortunate for them to end up on the wrong side of a 1-0 scoreline.

Manchester City’s journey to the final was nothing short of exceptional. They remained undefeated throughout the tournament, claiming the top spot in Group G. They achieved a resounding 8-1 aggregate victory against RB Leipzig and a convincing 4-1 aggregate win over Bayern Munich. Their spot in the final was solidified with an impressive 5-1 aggregate victory over Real Madrid. Manchester City emerged as the tournament winners, boasting an unbeaten record.
