Strasbourg lost two league games in a row for the first time this season after a ‘2-1’ home defeat against Nantes.
Nice stayed unbeaten in the league by picking up a ‘1-0’ win at Metz. Hichem Boudaoui’s goal in the 14th minute decided the game for Nice.
Monaco passed the test and held on to the top spot in the league by grabbing a ‘3-1’ win against Reims.

Marseille won their first game in seven matches (five in the league) after beating newly-promoted Le Havre 3-0. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was instrumental in the win.

Brest was not successful in their aim to secure maximum points at home against Toulouse and take full advantage of the “Reims vs. Monaco” fixture. They were lucky to escape defeat in the end. Martin Satariano’s goal in the 3rd minute of added time saved Brest from a home defeat to Toulouse. It’s back-to-back draws for Brest and a denial of consecutive league wins for Toulouse.

Playing at home and coming from a goal down to take a 3-1 lead into the halftime break was not enough to get Lyon their first league win of the season. Lyon allowed Lorient back into the game to find two goals in the second half to earn a point.

Before the match was abandoned after a spectator threw a firecracker onto the pitch to cause Mory Diaw (Clermont’s goalkeeper) to go down, Montpellier were leading 4-2 against Clermont when the match was abandoned. Musa Al-Taamari and Teji Savanier had both scored a brace for Montpellier, with Savanier converting from the penalty spot on both occasions. Yohann Magnin and Cheick Konate had the goals for Clermont. The game was in the final added minutes when it was abandoned. We wait to see how the federation will respond to this.

After losing four of their first five league games, Lens has turned their season around since the start of their UCL campaign. They picked up two consecutive league wins and were coming off a UCL victory against Arsenal. They stayed unbeaten by coming from a goal down to get a 1-1 draw with Lille.

After a heavy midweek defeat in the Champions League (to Newcastle United) and dropping points in a draw against Clermont Foot in the last round, Paris St. Germain recovered with a 3-1 win in Rennes. The result ended Rennes’ unbeaten start to the season.
