Athletic Club is unbeaten since losing to Real Madrid in the first round. They extended their successful run with an away victory over Alaves. However, it is back-to-back defeat for Alaves, as they lose three of their last four league games.
Girona kept their unbeaten streak alive by winning their fifth game in a row, rallying from an early goal deficit to earn three points in an eight-goal thriller against a Mallorca team that has only one win in six league games.

Abdon Prats came off the bench in the 78th minute and scored two late goals to help Mallorca escape with a respectable defeat of 5-3.

Sevilla followed their first league win of the season with their first league draw, a goalless draw against Osasuna. This is an improvement over Sevilla’s three losses to begin the season.

Barcelona had to do things the hard way at home against Celta Vigo. They were a goal down at halftime and two goals down after 80 minutes before mounting a comeback to win 3-2 and remain unbeaten. Robert Lewandowski scored twice in four minutes before Joao Cancelo scored the game-winning goal in the 89th minute.

Almeria remains without a league win, but Sergio Arribas scored two equalizing goals to get them a point at home against Valencia.
Real Sociedad got the bigger portion of the seven goals to beat Getafe 4-3.

Kirian Rodriguez scored in the second minute of added time to give Las Palmas their first win of the season in a 1-0 victory over Granada.

Cadiz managed to earn a point in a 1-1 draw with Real Betis. Both teams were coming off a defeat in the previous round, so avoiding defeat was a positive.

Real Madrid’s unbeaten start to the season was ended by a ‘3-1’ Madrid derby defeat. Alvaro Morata scored a brace as Atletico Madrid picked up a Madrid derby victory with three headed goals against a Real Madrid side that had won all their games leading to the fixture.
