It as an ideal send-off for Francesco Totti. An important home victory achieved in a dramatic was through a late goal to allow Roma to finish the season as the second best team in Italy and seal direct qualification to the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League group stage.

Edin Dzeko opened the scoring for Roma and picked up a goal that makes him finish as the highest goalscorer in the league.

Crotone made it! Crotone defeated Lazio on the final day of the season to get the maximum points that allowed them to take advantage of Empoli’s failure to get maximum points from their fixture with  Palermo.

The result meant Lazio fell short of a direct qualification to the 2017/18 UEFA Europa League group stage.
