Atalanta ended their season with a home victory over Chievo Verona. The value of this victory was increased when Crotone shocked Lazio with a defeat. Atalanta finished the season in fourth and gets the direct qualification to the 2017/18 UEFA Europa League group stage.

With UEFA Champions League final in their near future, the league champions; Juventus would not have been interested in picking up any new habits.

A late strike from Moise Kean got the winning goal to ensure that Juventus ended the 2016/17 Italian Serie A season with a victory.

AC Milan will have some work to do over the summer after ending their season with a defeat. For a team with such rich history, finishing 28 points away from the top is not what football expect from AC Milan.

Napoli finished the season as the third best team in Italy.

Napoli did their part and secured a victory away at Sampdoria, but Genoa failed to stop the party at Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

It as an ideal send-off for Francesco Totti. An important home victory achieved in a dramatic was through a late goal to allow Roma to finish the season as the second best team in Italy and seal direct qualification to the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League group stage.

Edin Dzeko opened the scoring for Roma and picked up a goal that makes him finish as the highest goalscorer in the league.

Relegated Palermo left the Italian Serie A on a high with a victory at home over Empoli. It was a very expensive defeat for Empoli. The result helped to send Empoli down to Serie B alongside Palermo and Pescara.

Crotone made it! Crotone defeated Lazio on the final day of the season to get the maximum points that allowed them to take advantage of Empoli’s failure to get maximum points from their fixture with  Palermo.

The result meant Lazio fell short of a direct qualification to the 2017/18 UEFA Europa League group stage.

Fiorentina came back from a goal down on two occasions to avoid ending their season on a home defeat to relegated Pescara.
