You know it was a bad day for Roma when Edin Dzeko is not on the score sheet.

Napoli went to Rome and came out victorious.

Bruno Fernandes 18’                                       Alberto Cerri 32’

March 5, 2017

Atalanta                0-0                Fiorentina

The 2016/17 Serie A season will complete with Atalanta and Fiorentina not finding a goal against each other.  It was another goalless draw that maintained the ten-point gap Atalanta enjoys over Fiorentina in the league standings.

Empoli                   0-2               Genoa

                                                                     Olivier Ntcham 89’
                                                                    Oscar Hiljemark 90’+3’

Arguably against the run of play, two late goals gave Genoa an away victory over Empoli.  The result allowed Genoa to open up a 7-point gap between the two sides, leaving Empoli sitting right above the relegation zone.

Cagliari                  1-5                  Inter Milan

Marco Borriello 42’                                  Ivan Perisic 34’ 47’
                                                                    Ever Banega 39’
                                                                    Mauro Icardi 67’(pen)
                                                                    Roberto Gagliardini 89’

A victory that shows the change in Inter Milan’s form.

Inter Milan bounced back from their ‘3-1’ defeat to Roma by thrashing recently-promoted Cagliari.

It was Inter Milan’s revenge for their loss earlier in the season after a late own goal denied them any point in front of their home fans.

Udinese                     1-1              Juventus

Duvan Zapata 37’                                         Leonardo Bonucci 60’

Juventus could take full advantage of Roma’s slip up against Napoli and open a wider gap.  A point from Udinese was good enough to extend their lead at the of the table to 8 points.

Torino                      3-1                  Palermo

Andrea Belotti 73’ 76’ 81’                               Andrea Rispoli 30’

Torino avoided a humiliating home defeat to relegation zoned Palermo when Andrea Belotti scored a hat-trick in 8 minutes to bring Torino from a goal behind to winning by two goals.

Crotone                 0-0           Sassuolo

Crotone ended five consecutive league defeats with a goalless draw against Sassuolo.

                                                                             Ciro Immobile 9’ 74’
