Italian Serie A – Round 20 – Benevento wins again, while the it is beginning to look like a two-horse title race.

The top two sides were victorious in Round 20 of the 2017/18 Italian Serie A season. Napoli enjoyed an expected ‘2-0’ home victory over Hellas Verona, while Juventus did just enough to take all three points away at Cagliari.

It was successive wins and a 100% increase in Benevento’s winning record in Serie A when they came from behind to beat Sampdoria.

Mauro Icardi added a goal to his tally in the Serie A season but his Inter Milan team has now gone five competitive matches without a victory. Four of those five matches were league matches, losing half of them.

Playing with fewer men for half of the match did not stop Atalanta from leaving Stadio Olimpico with all three points against a Roma side that was looking forward to keeping up the pace in the title race. In Atalanta’s more recent competitive matches, they’ve defeated AC Milan, Napoli and now Roma. #giantkillers

Ciro Immobile was on fire! His four goals against SPAL 2013 was what gave Lazio to take advantage of Roma’s slip and move into the ‘top four’ in the league standings. Immobile’s goals make him the new top goalscorer with 20 goals, over-taking inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi by two goals.
