Lyon needed a penalty kickoff to get over Lille to the final.
A 90th-minute penalty allowed Lille to get on level terms after Lyon had come from behind to take a lead in the 85th-minute.

After going 2-goals up before the break, there was little doubt about who was moving on to the final. PSG goes for title number 9.

Last year’s quarter-finalist are this year’s finalist.
It will be PSG and Lyon at contesting for the 2020 French League Cup.
As in all domestic competitions in France, Paris St. Germain will enter the final as the favorites to lift the title.

For the neutral, Lyon is one of the few French teams that on a given day can be a serious contender against PSG.

Already holding the record for the most titles won in the competition, PSG could be lifting their 9th Coupe de la Ligue title on April 4, 2020. Lyon would surely hope to spoil PSG’s dream by going for their second title in the competition.

A shock home defeat against Guingamp at the quarter final stage denied PSG a chance to go on and make it a 6th consecutive Coupe de Ligue champions in 2019. This is the year to make amends.

Lyon was also knocked out at the quarter final stage last year by the eventual winners Guingamp.
