How things stand as we heading into the third round of the UEFA Champions League groupstage.

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

MATCHDAY three

Matchday Three of the UEFA Champions League.
We are at the midway point of the group stage and teams will be trying to get situated in an ideal position for the final half of the group stage

Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Ajax, FC Sheriff, and Juventus will be hoping to conclude the first half of the group stage with a 100% winning start.

GROUP A
Club Brugge vs Manchester City
Paris St. Germain vs RB Leipzig

RB Leipzig is the only team left without points in Group A. They go to Paris to face PSG.

Club Brugge has had an impressive start and will be put to the test when Manchester City comes to town.
There is much separating the teams in Group A. None of them can allow for the drop of points.

GROUP B
Atletico Madrid vs Liverpool
Porto vs AC Milan

Liverpool will go to Madrid to see if they can extend their 100% winning start to the tournament.
AC Milan and Porto will be chasing their first win of the tournament in Porto.

GROUP C
Besiktas vs Sporting CP
Ajax vs Dortmund

Ajax and Dortmund have 6 points from games against Besiktas
and Sporting CP.
The teams with 100% winning start risk it against each other while the teams with a 100% losing start get an opportunity to pick up a point from each other.

GROUP D
Inter Milan vs FC Sheriff
Shakhtar Donetsk vs Real Madrid

FC Sheriff is in an unexpected position in the lead and a perfect winning start.
How long can FC Sheriff keep up with this trick? Can they go to Milan and win against Inter Milan.

Real Madrid will go to Ukraine to face a Shakhtar Donetsk team that shocked them last season.
Shakhtar was the winner in both legs of their ties with Real Madrid.
Real Madrid will need the results in Ukraine to make up for the upsets of last season’s matches against Shakhtar Donetsk and for their defeat at home to FC Sheriff in the last match.

GROUP E
Barcelona vs Dynamo Kyiv
Benfica vs Bayern Munich

With Benfica and Dynamo Kyiv in Group E, Barcelona being at the bottom without a point or a goal scored isn’t something many would’ve imagined.

Barcelona will get a chance at home to put some points and goals on the board when they host Dynamo Kyiv.

Unless Benfica has something special prepared, Bayern Munich will be in Benfica for win number three.

GROUP F
Manchester United vs Atalanta
Young Boys vs Villarreal

It’s a tight race in Group F.
Atalanta will go against Manchester United for the pints to stay at the top.
Manchester United is aware that a victory could put them in the first place.

Villarreal is the only team left without a win. They will blow the group open with a victory against Young Boys.

GROUP G
Salzburg vs Wolfsburg
Lille vs Sevilla

Salzburg is the only winner in Group G. Can Salzburg double their wins with a victory against Wolfsburg?

The other game is between Lille and Sevilla. An unbeaten Sevilla and Lille will be playing for their first win.

GROUP H
Chelsea vs Malmo
Zenit vs Juventus

Juventus will make it three wins from three if they get another
from Zenit.
Chelsea gets back to a win if they keep Malmo without one.
