We expect goals from anyone with a ‘9’ on the back of their jersey, even if you are a defender.

Kyriakos Papadopoulos header was the difference maker. On loan from Bayer Leverkusen, Papadopoulos reminded his home club of his value when he scored the only goal in this fixture.

Hamburger SV needed this victory to enhance their chances of playing top flight football next season.

The victory brought Monchengladbach to just three points away from Freiburg in the league standings.

Hertha Berlin got an early goal and defended it well to get back to winning ways.

It was six league matches without defeat and a consecutive victory for FC Koln after Anthony Modeste converted a late penalty into a goal for a home victory over Wolfsburg.

Hoffenheim got back on track after suffering their first league defeat in their previous match.

Three late goals made this victory for Hoffenheim a comprehensive one.

Borussia Dortmund got their revenge on RB Leipzig.

On the day Bayern Munich failed to grab all three points at home, RB Leipzig was unable to pick up any points to take advantage of Bayern’s slip.

Augsburg came from a goal down in the second half to get a home victory over Werder Bremen.  Raul Marcelo Bobadilla scored late to give the home fans something to really cheer about.

Werder Bremen remains just right above relegation zone.

 

Eintracht Frankfurt                       2-0                       Darmstadt

It was a deserved victory for Eintracht Frankfurt as they pounded bottom table Darmstadt with another defeat.

Eintracht Frankfurt moved into third place, eight points away from second-placed RB Leipzig.
