Bayer Leverkusen        2-2       FC Köln

Stefan Kiessling 60’                           Milo Jojic 14’
Joel Pohjanpalo 71’                            Lukas Klunter 49’

With a game left to play in the season, Bayer Leverkusen secured safety in the Bundesliga with a hard fought point.

Bayer Leverkusen avoided a defeat at home to Koln by coming from two goals down to get a point.

Schalke 04           1-1          Hamburger SV

Guido Burgstaller 25’                  Pierre-Michel Lasogga 90’+2’

Hamburger SV got a late goal to get a point that gives them something to play for on the final day.

Hamburger SV will switch positions in the league standings with Wolfsburg if they can get a victory on the final day of the 2016/17 Bundesliga. A switch in positions will see Hamburger SV avoid the relegation play-off spot.

Mainz 05          4-2         Eintracht Frankfurt

Jhon Cordoba 60’                         Branimir Hrgota 42’
Stefan Bell 62’                               Haris Seferovic 50’
Yoshinori Muto 76’
Pablo De Blasis 90’+4’(pen)

Mainz came from two goals down to grab an important victory over Eintracht Frankfurt ahead of the final day.  Mainz will need to secure at least a point in the final match against Koln, or hope that Hamburger SV does not get the maximum point from their final league match.

Wolfsburg       1-1       Borussia Monchengladbach

Mario Gomez 58’               Jannik Vestergaard 24’

Wolfsburg could have used a victory in this fixture. A draw means that there is still work to do on the final day.

Augsburg             1-1      Borussia Dortmund

Alfred Finnbogason 28’          Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang 32’

After managing just a point against Augsburg, Borussia Dortmund will need a victory on the final day of the season to ensure a third place finish and direct qualification to the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League.

Werder Bremen        3-5        Hoffenheim

Theodor Gebre Selassie 59 ’                  Adam Szalai 7’
Philipp Bargfrede 86’                             Andrej Kramaric 11’ 49’
Robert Bauer 90’                                     Steven Zuber 40’
                                                                    Ermin Bicakcic 51’

Werder Bremen couldn’t avoid defeat but did enough to avoid an embarrassing defeat at home to Hoffenheim.

Hoffenheim got a victory that gives them a good shot of finishing in third place on the final day if they can get a victory and hope the Borussia Dortmund doesn’t.

Darmstadt          0-2          Hertha Berlin

                                                                Salomon Kalou 14’
                                                                Jordon Torunarigha 28’

Relegated Darmstadt was defeated at home by Hertha Berlin.

Freiburg             1-1         Ingolstadt

Maximilian Philipp 31’                 Dario Lezcano 43’

Ingolstadt is relegated.

RB Leipzig           4-5         Bayern Munich

Marcel Sabitzer 2’                          Robert Lewandowski 17’(pen) 84’
Timo Werner 29’(pen) 65’           Thiago Alcantara 60’
Yussuf Poulsen 47’                        David Alaba 90’+1’
                                                           Arjen Robben 90’+5

It is definitely a classic.

Message from Bayern Munich to RB Leipzig: “You’re second best”

Bayern Munich reminded us why they are the champions of Germany when they scored three late goals in a span of 10 minutes to move from a losing position to a winning one.
