German Bundesliga after the sixth round: Leverkusen re-takes the top spot.

Bayern Leverkusen overtook Bayern Munich at the top of the league table after beating Mainz, while Leipzig and Bayern drew. Stuttgart moved up to second place with their win in Cologne, while Bayern Munich dropped three places to third. Dortmund climbed two places to fourth after beating Hoffenheim, while RB Leipzig dropped out of the top four and finished in fifth. Mainz remained at the bottom of the table, while Darmstadt jumped out of the relegation zone with a win against Werder Bremen.

Marco Reus continued his fine form by scoring in his third consecutive league game, including the winner in Dortmund’s 3-1 victory over Hoffenheim. This was Hoffenheim’s first defeat since the opening game of the season. They were a point and a position ahead of Dortmund before this fixture.

Alassane Plea provided an assist for the opening goal and scored two more to give Borussia Mönchengladbach a 3-0 lead at halftime against Bochum. The match ended in a 3-1 victory for Mönchengladbach, which was their first win of the season. Bochum remains winless in the league.

Newly-promoted Heidenheim have two wins in their last three league games after beating Union Berlin ‘1-0’. The result was Union Berlin’s four straight league defeat. Union Berlin was expected to be strong enough to end their losing streak against a newly-promoted side.

Daniz Undav came off the bench in the 62nd minute and scored two goals to help Stuttgart win 2-0 against Cologne.
Bayer Leverkusen did the expected by beating a winless Mainz side. It eneded a ‘3-0’ win for Leverkusen to also capitalize on the result from the ‘Bayern vs. Leipzig’ game.

Jonas Wind scored two goals in Wolfsburg’s 2-0 victory over Frankfurt, his third brace of the season. He has now scored all of Wolfsburg’s goals in three of their four league wins this season, the others being against Heidenheim and Köln.

Bayern Munich extended their unbeaten run in the league after coming from behind to draw with Leipzig. Leipzig, on the other hand, threw away a two-goal lead at home.
The home team was on edge at the end, but Darmstadt won their first league game of the season with a 4-2 victory over Werder Bremen.

Augsburg followed their first league win of the season with a ‘2-0’ defeat at Freiburg. Vincenzo Grifo’s goal form a penalty kick in the 5th minutes decided the match.
