Caen                                     3-3                  Dijon

Ivan Santini 24’ 37’                                    Pier Lees-Moutou 26’

Yann Karamoh 43’                                     Lions Diony 59’

                                                                     Alaeddine Yahia 81’(o,g)

Caen and Dijon evenly shared 6 goals.

Neither team could afford more defeats in their season and a draw seemed fair when we look at the balance of play.

Montpellier                            3-0                 Paris Saint-Germain

Paul Bastien Lasne 42’

Ellyes Skhiri 48’

Ryad Boudebouz 80’

Shocker!  We didn’t see this one coming.  Paris Saint-Germain leaves Montpellier goalless and pointless.

Just when we thought the Paris Saint-Germain were back on track in their attempt to defend their league title, they drop massive points away at Montpellier.

Montpellier hammered Paris Saint-Germain to secure their fourth victory of the season.

Paris Saint-Germain was coming to this fixture in search of their sixth consecutive league victory.

PSG’s defeat allows room for  Monaco to open a point lead with a victory and OGC Nice to open a four-point lead with a victory.

Bordeaux                                0-1                 Lille

                                                                        Nicolas De Preville 44’

Deigo Rolan missed a penalty that could have given Bordeaux a point in this match.

Nicola De Preville’s late first half goal for Lille gave them an away victory and a consecutive league victory.

Angers                                      2-2                Lorient

Famara Diedhiou 26’                                  Sylvain Marveaux 23’

Cheikh Ndoye 58’                                        Abdul Majeed Waris 66’

Angers played out a 2-2 draw with struggling Lorient.

There was a goal in each half for both teams. At some point in the match, each team gained a lead, lost a lead and got an equalizing goal.

Monaco                                      5-0              Bastia

Kylian Mbappe Lottin 10’

Thomas Lemar 67’

Radamel Falcao 68’ 73’

Guido Marcelo Carrillo 79’

After sixteen rounds, Monaco’s goal difference in the 2016/17 Ligue 1 is +33.  Their closest contender in that department is Paris Saint-Germain (+19).

Four second-half goals allowed Monaco to thrash a struggling Bastia. It was a great way for Monaco to bounce back after dropping points in their previous match in a ‘1-1’ draw against Dijon.

This victory would make Monaco the leaders of Ligue 1 if OGC NIce fails to win their fixture against Toulouse.

Guingamp                               2-0                  Nantes

Jimmy Braind 22’

Yannis Salibur 63’

A goal in each half gave Guingamp a deserved home victory over a struggling Nantes.  It is now six matches in a row without a win for Nantes.

Metz                                       (abandoned)               Lyon

Rennes                               2-0                      Saint-Etienne

Paul-Georges Ntep 55’

Kamil Grosicki 90’+3’

In a close contest, two second half goals allowed Rennes to make up for  their defeat to bottom table Lorient  with a win over Saint-Etienne.

Marseille                             3-0                         Nancy

Florian Thauvin 46’

Bafetimbi Gomis 80’

Clinton Njie 90’+3’

Marseille scored three goals in the second half to hammer out newly-promoted Nancy.

OGC Nice                                  3-0                       Toulouse

Alassane Plea 23’

Younes Belhanda 27’

Jean-Michel Seri 65’

A comfortable victory over Toulouse ensured that OGC Nice keep their three points lead at the top of the table for at least another week.
