SPAIN GETS A LATE COMEBACK TO ELIMINATE IVORY COAST
Rafa Mir was the star as Spain scored three extra-time goals to knock out Ivory Coast.
Spain had to come from a goal down on two occasions to send the game into extra time.
The first half ended in a 1- I draw when Dani Olmo scored in the 30th minute to cancel the lead that Eric Bailly had given to Ivory Coast in the 10th minute.

The Ivorians thought they had booked a place in the semifinal in the match’s dying minutes when Max Alain Gradel scored to give them a lead in the first minute of additional time.

SUPER SUB MIR TO THE RESCUE.
Rafa Mir was subbed into the game a minute after his team had gone a goal down and scored the equalizing goal to extend the match into extra time, where he scored two more goals to ensure the win for Spain. Mike Oyarzabal scored the winning goal for Spain in the first half of the extra time.

JAPAN SURVIVED NEW ZEALAND
After a goalless draw in over 120 minutes played,
Japan survived a penalty shootout to get past New Zealand. Japan won 4-2 on penalties.
BRAZIL MOVE THROUGH EGYPT TO DEFEND THEIR GOLD STATUS
Matheus Cunha’s goal in the 37th minute was enough to get Brazil to the semifinal at Egypt’s expense.
South Korea and Mexico showered us with goals: 9 goals to be exact.

MEXICO WINS A 9-GOAL MATCH TO ELIMINATE SOUTH KOREA
It was a 3-1 win in the first half.
Mexico won the first half by 3 goals to 1. It took a little over five minutes after the restart for the scoring to resume; a 3- 2 win for Mexico.

THE SEMIFINALS
‘Group A’ winners and runner-up are both looking for a medal. [Japan and Mexico]
Japan take on ‘Group C’ winners Spain.
Mexico will take on ‘Group D’ winners; Brazil.

One more game left to pick up a medal.
One of the four teams won’t get one.
Can you guess who goes without a medal? Can you guess who goes with the gold?

Should Brazil win the Gold, they will be the first nation to do so since Argentina in 2008.
