Round 4

Chelsea went to the San Siro and picked up a 2-0 win against AC Milan.
RB Leipzig went to Glasgow and grabbed a 2-0 win against Celtic.
The shock of the round was possibly Maccabi Haifa taking a 2-0 win against Juventus but Copenhagen also held Manchester City to a goalless draw.
Atletico Madrid couldn’t get themselves a win but did enough to stop Club Brugge from winning.
Mohamed Salah entered the game in the 68th minute and scored a hattrick in Liverpool’s 7-1 win against Rangers.
Barcelona was the first to get a goal but ended up feeling lucky to escape with a point (3-3) at Camp Nou against Inter Milan.
Bayern Munich went 4 goals up in the opening 35 minutes and possibly took their foot off the gas to allow Viktora Plzen to half the lead to 4-2.
Harry Kane missed a penalty in the dying minutes but Tottenham narrowly escaped with a win at home against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Marseille took a 2-0 win in Lisbon against Sporting CP.
Mehdi Taremi’s two goals from the penalty spot got Porto to a 3-0 win at Leverkusen.

ADVANCING TO THE ‘ROUND OF 16’

Bayern Munich
Club Brugge
Real Madrid
Manchester City
Napoli

Four wins from four games secured Napoli promotion to the Round of 16 from Group A. Liverpool is the prime candidate to join Napoli. Rangers are beyond the point of qualification, while Ajax’s hopes of advancing from the group hang on a thread.

Porto lead the battle with Atletico Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen for the other ticket to the ‘Round of 16’ to join Club Brugge
Club Brugge used a point against Atletico Madrid to advance to the ‘Round of 16’ from Group B.

Bayern Munich has secured promotion to the Round of 16 from Group C with two games to spare. Inter Milan will join them if they win their next match in the group. Barcelona’s hope of advancing will be based on a win in their remaining matches and hoping Inter Milan does not find a win from their remaining matches.
Viktoria Plzen’s performance is what many would’ve expected.

All four clubs in Group D and in Group E have their destiny in their hands.
Tottenham leads Group D.
Chelsea leads Group E.

RB Leipzig and Shakhtar Donetsk will fight for the final ‘Round of 16’ ticket after Real Madrid secured the place in the ‘Round of 16’ from Group F. The best Celtic can do in the group will be a place in the Europa League but that is also unlikely.

Dortmund is on the brink of advancing to the ‘Round of 16’ from Group G with Manchester City. Another win should do it for Dortmund.

Paris St. Germain and Benfica will both clinch a place in the ‘Round of 16’ if they avoid defeat in their next match. Maccabi Haifa has something to fight for after picking up a win against Juventus.
