#FBMD – Watford vs Leicester City

Posted on

2013 Football League playoffs.

12 May 2013 – Three days before this date, Leicester City did their part and won at home by a 1-0 margin over Watford. Not conceding a goal at home and getting the win had given Leicester City and incredible advantage ahead of the second leg.

Watford needed to win by at least two goals to move on to the finals in the second leg.

In the second leg of the fixture, Matěj Vydra scored a goal in each half to put Watford in the winning position of the match, but David Nugent’s first-half goal for Leicester City meant that the away goal rule would allow Leicester City to move on to the finals at Wembley Stadium.

This video shows the final minutes of the match. The final game-changing minutes of the match where fortunes turned.  The final moments when Leicester City failed take the opportunity that would have severely minimize the probability of Watford getting a winning goal. The final moments that hopes were lost and restored for some and restored and lost for others.
These are the ingredients of football.
