Ecuador 4 – 0 Haiti

After being eliminated in their match against Brazil, this was Haiti’s last chance to get a point in the Copa America Centenario.

Ecuador knew that a win will put them in a great position to qualify for the quarter-finals of the tournament.

It was their first win in the competition, and that was all they needed to book their place to the quarterfinals.

Match finished 4-0. Ecuador scored 2 goals in each half. Haiti was coming in as the underdog, so going down to an early goal in the 11th minute dropped their slim chance of grabbing any point from the match.

Enner Valencia opened the scoring. Jaime Ayovi doubled it 9 minutes later in the 20th minute. Two second half goals from Christian Noboa (57’) and Antonio Valencia(78’) finished the match off.  Ecuador dominated the entire match. Their lead was never under threat.

Haiti will leave the tournament with a losing all matches conceding 12 goals and scoring 1.

Ecuador waits to see who joins who in Group B will be joining them in the quarter-finals.

This is how Group B looks at the moment.
