Wins for Sweden, Belgium, and England

Group F – Sweden vs South Korea

Date – June 18, 2018

Venue – Nizhny Novgorod Stadium

Goal scorers – (Sweden) Andreas Granqvist 65’(pen)

Sweden joins Mexico at the top of Group F table.
A deserving victory for Sweden was achieved when Andreas Granqvist converted a second-half penalty into the only goal of the match.   

Group G – Belgium vs Panama

Date – June 18, 2018

Venue – Fisht Olympic Stadium

Goal Scorers – (Belgium) Dries Mertens 47’| Romelu Lukaku 69’ 75’

Belgium came alive in the second-half and showed their dominance against Panama.

Panama’s first ever FIFA World Cup match ended in a ‘3-0’ defeat to Belgium.  It took a special strike of the ball for Dries Mertens to break the deadlock and hand Belgium the winning goal. Romelu Lukaku added a brace to ensure that Belgium sat at the top of Group G.

Group G – Tunisia vs England

Date – June 18, 2018

Venue – Volgograd Arena

Goal scorers – (Tunisia) Ferjani Sassi 35’

Goal scorers – (England) Harry Kane 11’, 90+1’

It was Harry Kane’s day.

Kane secured maximum points for England with a late goal – a header in injury time of the second-half to reinstate the lead he had given England.

A 33rd-minute penalty awarded to Tunisia gave them a lifeline to get on level terms with England. A well-organized and composed Tunisia defense held England to a point for the majority of the regulation time.
