CONMEBOL shares the point in Group B

Posted on

At Rose Bowl, It was a CONMEBOL showdown when Brazil met Ecuador in the second match in Group B.

After Peru secured their 3 points win to top the group, both teams knew their job when they took the pitch.

Attacking football was expected, and that is how it started. Brazil as always was expected to take control of the match with their array of talents. It took an attempt on goal in the 5th minute from Ecuador to wake Brazil up. The team started strong and came close to opening the score. Thanks to an amazing save from Dreer, Colombia was saved from what would have been a dreadful start.

Colombia was relying on quick counter attacks to get Brazil. Their tactics were well executed by the team. Both teams looked dangerous, and at any point of the match could have snatched a win.

Colombia tops the CONMEBOL FIFA World Cup qualifiers at the moment. Brazil is a team that has always been amongst the best footballing nations in the world. This was a very even match-up.

Both teams came in the competition as favorites to get out of Group B. Sharing the points on the first day means that they have to do what is expected of them and win their remaining matches.

Brazil will face Haiti. Haiti is a team looking for a goal, a point, and a win. As desperate as Haiti might look, expectations put Brazil in the same situation as they are expected to grab wins in every match they play.

Colombia faces a Peru side that is topping the group. They will take to the field with a perfect idea of where they both stand on the table.

The next matches of Group B should set up an interesting final group match.
