ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE




Chelsea slipped up and dropped points but their lead at the top increased by a point because Liverpool failed to do what was needed to take advantage.
Chelsea remained top of the standings after a draw with Burnley.
Manchester City moved up a position to second place after a victorious day in the Manchester Derby.
West Ham dragged Liverpool from second place to fourth while moving up a position to third.
Arsenal joined entered the 5th spot to replace Manchester United.
Crystal Palace used a win against Wolves to move three positions up to the middle of the standings.
Norwich City sits bottom of the standings after winning their first match of the season.
None of the teams in the relegation spots suffered a defeat.

Eric Bailly’s own goal got Manchester City in front, and David De Gea’s goalkeeping heroics kept Manchester United with a defeat by a respectable scoreline.

BRENTFORD 1-2 NORWICH CITY
Norwich City’s first win of the season came against a fellow newly-promoted team.
Norwich lost 80% of the first 10 rounds, so this is a start to the next 10.
The resat marked Brentford’s fourth straight defeat.

CHELSEA 1-1 BURNLEY
Matej Hydra scored in the 79th minute to deny Chelsea a win at home.
Burnley followed up their first win of the season with a draw against the side at the top of the league.

CRYSTAL PALACE 2-0 WOLVES
Crystal Palace moved a point away from Wolves after finding the goals in the final 30 minutes of regulation time

BRIGHTON 1-1 NEWCASTLE
Newcastle came from a goal down to avoid defeat but not enough to get them their first win of the season.

ARSENAL 1- 0 WATFORD
After a goal called off by VAR for offside, and a penalty miss in the first half, a goal from Amil Smith-Rowe in the second half got Arsenal the maximum points from Watford.

WEST HAM 3- 2 LIVERPOOL
West Ham made it four straight wins since their defeat to Brentford and moved above Liverpool in the standings.
Ex-Chelsea Kurt Zuma scored the winning goal for West Ham to stop Liverpool from getting the result to take advantage of the points dropped by Chelsea.
