2017 UEFA Champions League Final

Juventus – Real Madrid

Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales

June 3, 2017

Cristiano Ronaldo has another match to steal this year’s ‘Golden Boot’ winner award from Lionel Messi, while Buffon could end an illustrious career in goal with a European title with Juventus.

2016/17 UEFA Champions League final is an opportunity for Real Madrid to widen the gap they’ve created in the titles won in the competition’s history.  Real Madrid will win the title for the twelveth time and be the first team to retain the title in the Champions League era if they come out victorious over Juventus on June 3, 2017.

There is a possibility of a treble season for Juventus but they have had a quite unlucky streak when it comes to Champions League finals.   Defeats in 1973, 1983, 1997, 1998, 2003, and most recently in 2015 to FC Barcelona (another La Liga team) has made Juventus the record holder for the team with the most defeats in a Champions League final, managing just 2 wins in 8 appearances.

List of past winners and how many titles they’ve had to their name.  There are some surprising names on this list.
