The 2022/23 German Bundesliga season kicked off with Bayern Munich extinguishing whatever doubts anyone had about where the Meisterschale is staying. The game was over at halftime when Bayern Munich took a 5-0 lead to the break against Frankfurt. It ended a 6-1 win for Bayern Munich.

A strong second half got Freiburg the three points from a 4-0 win at Augsburg.
Freiburg was two goals up in the opening three minutes of the second half after a goalless opening half.

Karim Onisiwo opened the scoring to give Mainz the lead in the 26th minute and scored another in the 77th minute to restore the lead after Kevin Stager equalized the goal in the 39th minute.

Union Berlin won the fourth straight Berlin Derby by opening their Bundesliga season with a 3-1 victory at home against Hertha Berlin.

Joshua Guilavogui’s 84th-minute goal saved Wolfsburg from an opening round home defeat to promoted Werder Bremen. It ended as a 2-2 draw.

It was by a narrow margin but Dortmund got off to the right start through a 1-0 win against Leverkusen.

Christopher Nkunku scored the game-opening goal of the match but RB Leipzig started the season by dropping two points at Stuttgart.

FC Kohn kicked off the season with a 3-1 win against a 10-man newly promoted Schalke
