Picking the outright brightest star is never easy, and sometimes blinding.

The final shortlist for #SOTW included…

Angel Di Maria(Angers vs Paris Saint-Germain**) {French Ligue 1} – for scoring 100% of the goals in this fixture to keep Paris Saint-Germain in the title race.

Cristian Zapata  (Inter Milan vs AC Milan**) {Italian Serie A} – for getting the late equalizer that ensured AC Milan avoid a defeat that would have seen them lose the Milan Derby and fall below Inter Milan in the league standings.

Jean-Michel Seri (OGC Nice** vs Nancy) {French Ligue 1}  – Scoring the winning and insurance goal for Nice to keep themselves in the title race and a finish with a shot at playing in the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League.

Radamel Falcao (Monaco** – Dijon) {French Ligue 1} – for giving Monaco the goal that allows them to keep their place at the top of the league table.

But the SOTW will have to go to

Isco

(Sporting Gijon – Real Madrid**)  {Spanish La Liga)

For his solo effort that gave Real Madrid a late winner to keep them in the best position to get to the league title.
