Barcelona beat Sevilla 1-0 thanks to an own goal by Sergio Ramos, who deflected Lamine Yamal’s shot into his own net. Barcelona picked up three points after dropping points in the midweek against Mallorca, while Sevilla suffered their first league defeat in four games.

A 10-man Villarreal held on to pick up a point from a goalless draw with Getafe.

Mallorca overcame an early deficit to take the lead, and were on the verge of their second league victory of the season until Radamel Falcao converted a penalty in the 12th minute of added time to level the score for Rayo Vallecano. The match finished in a 2-2 draw.

Real Madrid ended Girona’s unbeaten start with a ‘3-0’ win.
It was a ‘3-0’ Basque derby win for Real Sociedad against Athletic Club.

Almeria stayed winless after blowing a three-goal first-half lead to draw 3-3 at home against Granada. With Granada having been just as bad as Almeria in the opening rounds of the season, not many would’ve expected Almeria to blow such a big lead. Luis Suarez scored three goals after the 40th minute to put Almeria up 3-0 at the break.

Osasuna put an end to four straight league games without a win (3 losses) in a 2-0 away win against a 10-man Alaves.

Real Betis ended a 3-game winless run in the league with a ‘3-0’ win against Valencia side that are now three league games without a win since beating Atletico Madrid ‘3-0’.

Atletico Madrid recovered from two goals down to avoid a home defeat and win 3-2 against Cadiz. That is three league wins in a row for Atletico Madrid, while Cadiz goa four games without one.
