CAMEROON AND CAPE VERDE TOOK THREE POINTS ON THE OPENING DAY
CAMEROON 2- 1 BURKINA FASO
The host nation had two penalties to get a winning start to their tournament.
Gustavo Sangare opened the scoring for the match and the tournament in the 24th minute to get Burkina Faso a lead that was wiped away before the break.
Vincent Abubakar scored the leveler from the spot in the 40th minute, and again in the third minute of the added minutes.

ETHIOPIA 0-1 CAPE VERDE
Ethiopia went down a man in the 12th minute and a goal down right before the halftime break.

SENEGAL 1-0 ZIMBABWE
Senegal narrowly escaped their opening game with the three points.
A stoppage-time penalty was converted by Sadio Mane into the winning goal for Senegal in the 7th minute of the final additional minutes.


GUINEA 1- 0 MALAWI
Issiaga Sylla’s goal in the 35th minute stood for the rest of the match to get Guinea to the three points.

Morocco 1- 0 GHANA
Sofiane Boufal snatched the three points for Morocco with seven minutes left of the regulation time.

Comoros 0 – 1 GABON
Comoros’ debut ended in a defeat.



NIGERIA WAS THE ONLY WINNER ON MATCHDAY 3 OF THE AFRICA CUP OF NATION.

Kelechi Iheanacho scored the only goal of the day in the 30th minute of the ‘Nigeria vs Egypt’ match to get the three points in Group D for Nigeria.

Ablie Jallow scored a beauty in the 10th minute of the game to allow Gambia to celebrate a goal in the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time in their history.

Max-Alain Gradel scored in the 5th minute to get Ivory Coast the win.
And a penalty in the early minutes of the second half was converted {by Ibrahima Kone} into the only goal of the match to see Mali win against Tunisia.
