AC MILAN takes the lead after 16 rounds of the Italian Serie A

16 rounds into the Italian Serie A season and the Milan clubs are leading the title race.

Napoli vacated the top spot after losing at home against Atalanta.
AC Milan did the need to take first place by getting the win against newly-promoted Salernitana.
Inter moved up a position to second with a win in Rome.
The point interval between the top three remained but Atalanta moved two points from the three-horse race.
Juventus and Fiorentina got the wins from their match to leapfrog Roma in the standings.
Roma dropped two positions down to 7th; right above Lazio.
Cagliari got the only point accumulated in the relegation zone.

Napoli goes from unbeaten to losing 2 of their last 4; with only one win. On the other hand, it 5 wins in a row for Atalanta.

BOLOGNA 2-3 FIORENTINA
Dusan Vlahovvic’s goal from the penalty spot in the 67th minute ended up being the winning goal for Fiorentina to get the maximum points at Bologna.

SPEZIA 2-2 SASSUOLO
Giacomo Raspadori scored two goals to get Sassuolo a point against Spezia.
The bright side for Spezia is that they stopped a three-game losing run with this draw.

SPEZIA 3-4 HELLAS VERONA
Spezia blew the 3- goal lead to suffer a third straight defeat.
Giovanni Simeone scored 2 goals that included the game-winning goal for Hellas Verona to come from 3 goals down in the first half to win the second half by four goals.

SAMPDORIA 1-3 LAZIO
Three goals in the first half lead Lazio to their first league win in four matches. For Sampdoria, it was a consecutive defeat after winning two games in a row for the first time in the season

JUVENTUS 2-0 GENOA
Recent results might have made Juventus nervous at certain points in the game but it was a win from a comprehensive performance from them.

CAGLIARI 1- 1 TORINO
Joao Pedro scored a goal from a bicycle kick to get Cagliari a point at home against Torino.

EMPOLI 3-1 UDINESE
Empoli grabbed three goals in the second half to come from a goal down to grab the three points at home against Udinese
