Sevilla narrow victory against Villarreal allowed them to take second place, while Real Betis moved into 3rd place from 5th.

Sevilla, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Villarreal, Granada, and Alaves are still with a game in hand to potentially help their cause.

Levante is still without a win after a goalless draw at home against Osasuna.

Barcelona’s first defeat under Xavi’s management came at home against Real Betis.
Juanmi followed up a hattrick against Levante with a goal at Camp Nou to win three points for Real Betis against Barcelona.

ATLETICO MADRID 1- 2 MALLORCA
It looked like a routine when Atletico Madrid labored to finally get the lead in the 68th minute.
Takefusa Kubo scored the winner in the first minute of the additional minute to add to Franco Russo’s 80th minute equalizing goal for Mallorca to come from a goal down and end a run of seven winless matches in the league with three points in Madrid.

REAL SOCIEDAD 0-2 REAL MADRID
It was another win for Real Madrid.
Six league wins in a row for Real Madrid and unbeaten since the El Clasico win at the Camp Nou.
Vinicius Junior scored the winning goal in the 47th minute to increase his tally in the season to 10 goals.
Luka Jovic entered the match in the 17th minute to replace an injured Karim Benzema. Toric went on to score the insurance goal after assisting the first.

RAYO VALLECANO 1- 0 ESPANYOL
An Espanyol own-goal got Rayo Vallecano a home win.

ELCHE 3-1 CADIZ
Elche won their third game of the season to open a three-point gap on Cadiz.

CELTA VIGO 1-2 VALENCIA
Iago Aspas scored, got booked, and was forced off the pitch in the opening 15 minutes of the match.
On the balance of play, Celta Vigo probably deserved more than a defeat.

GETAFE 0-0 ATHLETIC CLUB
Seven games without a win for Athletic Club after a goalless draw with Getafe.
