2019/20 UEFA Super Cup Champions

Bayern Munich completed the continental sweep and picked up the UEFA Super Cup title at Sevilla’s expense.

Manuel Neuer came in BIG for Bayern Munich as they moved from a goal down to beat Sevilla by a goal in extra time.

A foul on Ivan Rakitic allowed Sevilla to take an early lead from the resulting penalty. Lucas Ocampos got the better of Manuel Neuer.

20 minutes later an outside of the foot chip into the box from Thomas Muller was redirected into a better shooting position for Leon Goretzka by Robert Lewandowski. Goretzka made no mistake and converted the chance into the equalizing goal for Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich went on to put the ball in the net on two occasions, only to be denied by VAR and the referee.
Sevilla had clear cut chances to steal a win (including a late counter attacking chance that would have sealed a win), but Manel Neuer’s goalkeeping kept the score level.

The pressure and fatigue might have gotten to Diego Carlos. His clearance of the ball led to the corner that resulted in Javi Martinex winning goal for Bayern Munich.

Man of the Match was awarded to Thomas Muller but Manuel Neuer might be more deserving.
