2021 AFCON: Senegal and Egypt are the last two standing in contention for the African Cup of Nation title.

As the silver medalist in the previous tournament (2019), the only progress for Senegal will be in winning this tournament.

Four goals in the final 20 minutes of the regulation time.
Senegal reached the final of successive AFCON tournaments.

With Burkina Faso out, the winner of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations is still in contention for the 2022 World Cup.

The top two most successful teams in the competition’s history faced off in the semifinal, and the most successful of the two moved on to the final to get a chance at stretching their lead.
Egypt is one win away from a record 8th Africa Cup of Nations title.

The best chance of the game fell to Egypt; when Mohamed Salah run on a back pass to get a 1v1 against Cameroonian goalkeeper Andre Onana.
Onana’s foot saved the day.

After a goalless 120+ minutes played, Cameroon and Egypt took their game to the penalty kick-offs.
Thanks to goalkeeping heroics of Mohamed Abougabal and a clinical set of Egyptian shooters earned them a spot in the final throw a 3-1 penalty kickoff win.
