Paris St. German gets a gap at the top after the 9th round of the 2020/21 French Ligue 1.

FRENCH LIGUE 1

Nine rounds into the season and
Paris St. Germain are 2 points clear at the top of the Ligue 1 standings.
Lille remains in the other direct qualification spot for Champions League football.
Nice enters the top 4 with a win at Angers.
Marseille falls out of the top 4 but have a match in hand.

 

Monaco are in the top half of the table with a 4-0 win at Bordeaux; pushing Bordeaux out of the top half of the league standings.
Reims moved out of the relegation zone with a win against Strasbourg.
Strasbourg replaces Reims in the 19th spot.
Dijon picked up a point from a goalless draw but remained at the bottom of the league standings.

Positive testing in more than 10 members of the Lens team caused the postponement of their fixture against Marseille. Marseille and Lens have a game in hand.

Brest were first to get on the score sheet but Rennes turned the match around to get a deserved 2- win at home.

After a goalless first-half, (a Neymar-less)Paris St. Germain found three goals to make it a 7th successive league win. A goal and assist for Kylian Mbapper.

Saint-Etienne suffered their fifth successive league defeats and 6 successive league games without a win after a ‘1-0’ defeat at home against Montpeller.

Nice win 3-0 on the road against Angers.

Dijon remained the only winless side in the league after playing out a goalless draw at home with Lorient.

Despite playing the entirety of the first half with a numerical disadvantage. A ‘1-0’ win allowed Metz picked up three points at Nimes.

Strasbourg followed up their 3-0 win at Brest with a 2-1 defeat at Reims.

Wissam Ben Yedder was on the scoresheet as Monaco bounced back from their 4-1 defeat at Luon with a 4-0 win at home against Bordeaux.

Lille couldn’t hold on to their lead against Lyon. It finished a ‘1-1’ draw; dropping Lille two points behind the defending champions.
