GERMAN BUNDESLIGA
Schalke failed to take advantage of an opportunity to climb to the summit.
After 8 rounds of the current Bundesliga season, Borussia Monchengladbach and Wolfsburg stat in the top two spots in the league standings; with the latter getting a result from this round to make to make it equal points accumulated.
Robert Lewandoski extended his goalscoring streak despite Bayern Munich’s failure to secure maximum points. Lewandowski leads the scoring in the league with 12 goals. (54% of Bayern Munich’s goals so far in the season).
A victory against Borussia Monchengladbach has allowed Borussia Dortmund bach into the ‘top four’.
Paderborn remains winless and at the bottom of the league standings.

Eintracht Frankfurt was clinical with their chances to win at home against Bayer Leverkusen. The ‘3-0’ win allowed from Frankfurt to leap over Leverkusen in the league standings with equal points accumulated. A victory for Bayer Leverkusen in addition to the other results from the round would have seen them climb to the top of the league standings.

Robert Lewandowski continues to score but Bayern Munich went consecutive matches without a Bundesliga win. Bayern Munich conceded an early and late goal to drop points at Augsburg.

Newly-promoted Union Berlin got their second victory of the season by denying Freiburg a shot at the top of the league standings. With the results from around the league, a win for Freiburg could have seen them end the round as league leaders. A ‘2-0’ home victory for Augsburg helps in their early battle to remain in the top flight for another season.

Wout Weghorst scored an 82nd-minute equalizing goal for Wolfsburg to avoid defeat in Leipzig.

Dodi Lukebakio equaled the score in the 70th-minute for Hertha Berlin to leave Werder Bremen with a point.

Rouwen Henning’s goal in the 82nd-minute gave Fortuna Dusseldorf the win over a Mainz side that was reduced to 10 men when Edimilson Fernandes was sent off on a red card at the end of the first-half.

Marco Reus scored the only goal of the match for Borussia Dortmund beat Borussia Monchengladbach to get back to winning ways after going three league matches.

Debut Bundesliga goals for both Louis Schaub and Sebastiaan Bornauw helped lift Köln out of the relegation zone tonight

Andrej Kramaric scored the opening goal of the match in his first appearance of the season after coming back from an injury as Hoffenheim denied Schalke a chance to finish the round at the top of the league table. Schalke came into the match knowing that a win would shoot them up to the #1 spot.
