Borussia Monchengladbach missed out on an opportunity to get closer to the top spot in the league standings after suffering an away defeat to Freiburg.

Borussia Dortmund concedes a late goal through a penalty to drop point at home against Hertha Berlin. Hertha Berlin tripped Bayern Munich is the race to defend their title earlier this season and just did the same to a Borussia Dortmund on their way to break Bayern’s dominance in the Bundesliga. Salamon Kalou scored both of Hertha Berlin’s goals.

Augsburg picks up three points away against relegation-zoned Hannover 96.

Bayern Munich is a win away from the top after Thiago Alcantara got the winning goal for the team to pick up the maximum points from Mainz.

Newly-promoted Fortuna Dusseldorf comes from their 7-1 away thrashing against Frankfurt in the last round to a 3-0 home defeat to Wolfsburg.

Four goals in the second-half against a 10-man Stuttgart sealed a consecutive league victory for Hoffenheim.

Eintracht Frankfurt went from trashing recently-promoted Fortuna Dusseldorf in their last league match to being held from finishing the round in the ‘top 4’ by recently-promoted Nurnberg. Sebastien Haller’s injury-time equalizing goal was what saved Frankfurt from suffering a defeat.

It was goalless between RB Leipzig and Schalke 04. Schalke 04 remains in need of victories to avoid the relegation threat, while RB Leipzig has now dropped a couple of points in their last two league matches.

After going down 3 goals in the first half to Bayer Leverkusen, Werder Bremen made things interesting in the second-half when they pulled two goals back (two minutes apart) to put some pressure on the away team. But Leverkusen rose to the occasion and duplicated the first-half goal tally to comfortably secure the maximum points through a ‘6-2’ victory.
