Is it too soon to give the title to PSG? Or do we need to pretend there is competition in Ligue 1 to bring some complications to PSG’s title-defending objectives?

Kylian Mbappe nets four goals to add to Neymar’s opening goal to see that Paris St.Germain made it 9 straight wins in the opening matches in Ligue 1 while handing Lyon a heavy defeat. PSG move to 27 points and 8 points gap between themselves and the rest of Ligue 1.

Jonathan Bamba stars as Lille opened a 4 point gap in the table between themselves and Saint-Etienne after a 3-1 home victory to be the second-best team in France according to the current standings.

Monaco’s woes continued after suffering a ‘2-1’ defeat at home to Rennes.
Despite starting their second-half with a man down after Andrea Raggi was red-carded off at the end of the first, Monaco was able to get back on level terms through Radamel Falcao’s goal. But to be fair to Monaco, a draw won’t have been enough to help the direction the team is currently heading. Hatem Ben Arfa scored the difference-making goal for Rennes to end a run or 4 winless league matches, while Monaco extended their run to 8 winless matches in the league.

Marseille got the goals in the first half to beat Caen. A late Romain Thomas goal for Angers helped his side avoid defeat at home to Strasbourg.
