2018/19 French Ligue 1 – Round 5 – PSG pulls 5 points away.

Paris St. Germain is 5 points clear from the rest of Ligue 1 after just 5 matches into the season. Monaco and Lyon have been dropping points to leaver Marseille as the only pre-season title contender to be giving PSG any challenger in Ligue 1.
PSG remains perfect while ending Saint Etienne’s unbeaten run.
Even with some of their major stars rested, Paris Saint-Germain was able to secure a convincing ‘4-0’ victory at home over Saint Etienne.

Guingamp is the only team left to secure a point and/or a victory in the league.
Nice equals Rennes in points accumulated when they found the winning goal in the 89th minute to make it a consecutive win after starting their season with defeat in their opening 3 matches.

Lyon couldn’t bounce from their defeat to Nice with a victory and dropped some more points in the league after a 2-2 draw with Caen.

After 3 defeats to start their season, Angers has gone from beating Lille to Dijon for a back to back league victories.
Lille continues with their impressive start to the season after winning against Amiens. Lebo Mothballs scored an injury-time equalizing goal to save Strasbourg a point at Montpellier.

Monaco is winless in 4 consecutive league matches after a ‘1-1’ draw with Toulouse. It has been an impressive start to the season by Toulouse.

Newly promoted Nimes picked up a point after an entertaining 3-3 draw, while Florian Thauvin rose to the top of the goalscoring list when he contributed two goals in Marseilles trashing of Guingamp by ‘4 goals to nil.
