2018/19 English Premier League – Round 7 – Man City is back on top after Chelsea and Liverpool share the points

Posted on

West Ham United has now gone 3 league matches without defeat after convincingly taking all three points at home against Manchester United.

Arsenal climbed to 5th place in the league after getting 2 goals in the final 10 minutes to break down Watford and secure a victory at home.

Gylfi Sigurdsson made up for his missed penalty by scoring the winning goal a few minutes later to help guide Everton to a ‘3-0’ win against newly-promoted Fulham. Everton ended a run of 3 winless matches that included consecutive defeats in their most recent fixtures.

Tottenham gets the job done in the first half to win 2-0 away at Huddersfield.
Manchester City took advantage of the weekend fixtures and secured an expected 3 points at home against Brighton & Hove Albion with a ‘2-0’ victory. The victory pushed them to the top of the league after Daniel Sturridge scored a late ‘beauty’ to get Liverpool a point at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea. Both Liverpool and Chelsea kept the unbeaten run intact but dropped the points that denied them the top spot at the end of Round 7.

Newcastle United, Cardiff City, and Huddersfield Town sit in the relegation zone as the only winless teams left in the league.

In the final match of the round, a late penalty allowed Bournemouth a win at home over Crystal Palace.
