Chelsea and Liverpool remain the two teams with a perfect record of 5 wins out of their opening 5 matches in the 2018/19 English Premier League.

Eden Hazard was the star of the show as he scored a hattrick to help Chelsea bounce from a goal down to win comfortably at home against newly-promoted Cardiff City, while Liverpool extended their perfect start to the season after beating Tottenham at Wembley. Tottenham has suffered a consecutive ‘2-1’ defeat to teams that were undefeated in the league.

Two late goals helped Leicester to a respectable defeat after their first half shambles ended up costing them the match. A perfect first half allowed Bournemouth to seal a ‘4-2’ victory over Leicester City.

Wilfried Zaha scored to end Crystal Palace’s run of 3 consecutive league defeats in an away victory against Huddersfield Town.

David De Gea late heroics secured maximum points for Manchester United as they ended Watford perfect start to the season with a ‘2-1’ away victory. Defending champions Manchester City handed newly-promoted Fulham a 3-0 defeat. An away victory for Arsenal handed Newcastle United their third consecutive defeat. Burnley stayed at the bottom of the table after defeating to Wolverhampton, while West Ham United moved out of the relegations zone after a ‘3-1’ victory at the Goodison Park.

In the final match of the round, a late penalty allowed Brighton & Hove Albion to complete a comeback from 2 goals down to seal a draw away against Southampton.
