2017/18 UEFA Champions League – Round Three (Day 1) – Manchester City and Besiktas are running away in their groups.

Liverpool first victory of the competition was good enough to send the top of Group E. The game was practically over at the half when Liverpool went Slovenia to trash Maribor to a ‘7-0’ score. Sevilla suffered their first defeat in Group E when Spartak Moscow made use of home advantage and picked up a ‘5-1’ victory.

Manchester City stays on top of Group F after picking up three wins from three games. A missed penalty probably ended up costing Napoli a point against Manchester City. Napoli had two penalty opportunities and managed to convert one into a goal. The score finished a 2-1 Manchester City win. Two early goals for City got some fans to believe this was going to be another ‘big-margin’ victory for the team.

Shakhtar Donetsk continued Feyenoord losing streak in Group F when they came from a goal down to pick up an away victory.

In Group G, RB Leipzig had the bigger portion of the five goals scored in the first half when Porto came to visit, while Monaco is still winless after a home defeat to group leaders Besiktas; who are enjoying a 100% start to the competition.

It was a ‘1-1’ score in both matches in Group H. Tottenham Hotspur picked up a respectable draw at the Santiago Bernabeu against Real Madrid, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had to save Borussia Dortmund from defeat against APOEL.
