2017/18 Spanish La Liga – Round 9 – Valencia continues to intrude the top four.
Lionel Messi remains the leading scorer and Malaga is the only winless side left in the season.
Neither Cristiano Ronaldo or Messi got on the score sheet, but they both enjoyed victories. The teams that occupy the top four positions in the league table were all winners in the 9th round of the 2017/18 La Liga season.
Valencia held onto second-place in the league after convincingly defeating Sevilla to open 5-point gap between the two sides. It was a match that could have allowed Sevilla to leap over Valencia with a victory.
A questionable goal gave Barcelona a first-half lead which they doubled in the second half to get back to winning ways in the La Liga at the expense of a bottom of the table and winless Malaga. Real Madrid was done it Eibar by the end of the first half, and a solo goal was good enough to give Atletico Madrid a victory against Celta Vigo. It was Atletico Madrid’s first victory in five competitive matches.
