Juventus long run of unbeaten home matches(41) came to an end. Lazio did the improbable and got the maximum points from an away match against Juventus. Ciro Immobile scored Lazio’s two goals for the ‘2-1’ victory. Those two goals also pushed Immobile over Paulo Dybala (Juventus) to the top of the goalscoring chart.
Napoli visited Rome and returned with a victory that maintained their perfect start to the season. It was a statement of intent for the league leaders to grab a victory from another title contender.
In a well-contested match, a late penalty allowed Inter Milan to take a victory in the Milan Derby over archrival AC Milan. Inter’s Mauro Icardi scored all three goals for his side in this match. Inter remains undefeated in the Serie A, and will be traveling to face another undefeated side in Napoli for the next Serie A fixture.
Newly promoted Benevento remains without a point after eight matches.
