2017/ 18 UEFA Champions League- Round Four (Day Two) – Tottenham and Manchester City are in the ‘Round of 16’

Posted on

We expected Liverpool to have a field day with Maribor and they did. Liverpool is leading the pack in Group E after a ‘3-0’ home victory over Maribor. A ‘2-1’ victory at home allowed Sevilla to leap over Spartak Moscow in the standings and sit a point below Liverpool.

Manchester City had to come from behind to pick up a victory at Napoli and maintained a 100% start to their UCL season by picking up their fourth victory in Group F. The defeat put Napoli in a position that could see them fail to advance to the ‘Round of 16’. Manchester City are in the ‘Round of 16’.

FC Porto moved to second in Group G with a victory over RB Leipzig, while Besiktas played a ‘1-1’ draw with a Monaco side that needed more than a draw.

The headline result of the night was Real Madrid getting humiliated by Tottenham Hotspur at the Wembley Stadium. A Dele Alli inspired ‘3-1’ victory for Tottenham pushed the team to the top of Group H, and into the Round of 16. Borussia Dortmund and APOEL Nicosia remain winless in the Group after playing another ‘1-1’ draw in Group H.
