With the league title won, relegation list completed, and the top four teams decided, there wasn’t much to contest in the 36th Round of the 2017/18 season.

FC Barcelona is currently creating the longest unbeaten run in the league’s history, and are three matches away from going a full season without defeat.

Real Madrid intentions were to spoil the title celebrations party for Barcelona by putting an end to their undefeated streak in the league.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi were both on the scoresheet as Real Madrid failed to beat a 10-man FC Barcelona at the Camp Nou.
Cristiano could only play half of the El Clasico after injuring himself when he leveled the score for Real Madrid, but missing Cristiano was somewhat compensated by the fact that Barcelona played the entirety of the second half with a man down.
Despite have the numerical advantage, the best Real Madrid could do was get a point in the El Clasico.

League top scorer Lionel Messi scored his 33rd goal of the season, and his 26th goal in the El Clasico (top scorer).
Cristiano Ronaldo matched Alfredo Di Stefano as Real Madrid’s top scorer in the El Clasico at 18 goals.

Atletico Madrid suffers their first league defeat at home.
Espanyol became the first team to beat Atletico Madrid in a La Liga match at the Wanda Metropolitano.
