Lionel Messi came off the bench in the second-half to be Barcelona’s hero.
2 goals down to Sevilla and just about 2 minutes of regulation time left to be played, Barcelona was looking like a team that was about snap their streak of 37 undefeated games in the La Liga. In those 2 minutes, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi both got on the score sheet to give Barcelona a ‘2-2’ draw to preserve their streak and put them a game away from equalling Real Sociedad’s record for the most undefeated league matches in La Liga history.

Karim Benzema made his 400th appearance for Real Madrid as captain of the team while contributing a goal to their ‘3-0’ away victory at Las Palmas.

Atletico Madrid returned to winning ways with a victory over a Deportivo La Coruna team that has gone 15 matches without a win in the league. Kevin Gameiro converted from the spot to give Atletico Madrid the only goal of the match.

Bottom-table Malaga remains 11-points from safety but ended a 14-match winless streak after a shocking victory against Villarreal.

In the final round of the round, Real Betis moved a point away from the UEFA Europa League direct qualification spot after Sergio Leon scored the only goal of the match in the 89th-minute to give his team an away victory against Getafe.
