2017/18 Spanish La Liga – Round 27 – Barcelona beats Atletico Madrid to stay undefeated

In the opening match of the round, Christian Stuani and his replacement Anthony Lozano scored the goals for Girona in their victory against Villarreal.

Atletico Madrid was the only team in the top four to finish the 27th round without a point.
A first-half Lionel Messi free-kick handed FC Barcelona a victory over Atletico Madrid and pulled the team 8-points away from the rest of the league. FC Barcelona remains undefeated after 27 matches in the 2017/18 Spanish La Liga season.

Real Madrid and Valencia were both on the winning side for the score. Real Madrid bounced from mid-week defeat with a home victory against Getafe, while Valencia saw off Real Betis.

Sevilla stayed close to the top four by beating a struggling Athletic Club side, while Leganes ended a 6-match losing streak by beating bottom-table Malaga.

Despite being first to take the lead, Las Palmas found themselves on the losing end and remain in the relegation zone after conceding a late goal against Celta Vigo.

Lionel Messi’s winning goal against Atletico Madrid was his 24 goal of the season and keeps him 4 goals above his closest competition, teammate Luis Suarez
